Do you have a Ladystache?

How should I ‘manage’ the ladystache? Wax? Bleach? Laser?

This is a very common question I get asked in the salon. It is a dilemma many ladies face.

There is no right or wrong way to deal with the ladystache but here are some options to think about…

Bleach

Is an option if you are mainly concerned about the darkness of the hairs. Bleach will lighten the hairs but the area will still appear ‘fury’ and makeup will still grip to the hairs. Bleach is ONLY suitable for fair skinned individuals.

Waxing

One of the most common perceptions is that if you wax the lip area the hair will grow back 10 times worse. This is incorrect. Waxing actually thins the hair thickness and the hairs will grow back more sparse. Trust me I have waxed about 1,857,376 lips. Lip waxing will cost about $12 and will need to be done every 4 – 8 weeks. Make sure the waxing is done by a professional as the lip is very sensitive skin!

Electrolysis

Is the only method that will permanently remove the hair forever. Electrolysis uses a needle that is inserted into the follicle to destroy the root. The plus is that it will work on any hair colour. The negative, is that it’s a lengthy process to remove the entire mo.

Laser

This method is permanent hair reduction not complete removal. It will only work on dark hair so the fine, blonde hairs will still remain. A consultation is essential to ensure your skin is suitable for Laser.

My advice – wax it!
